How Can You Help?

Financial Assistance: The Family Center is simply Maury County taking care of Maury County. We are not a national organization; neither do we receive federal money. We are simply good people taking care of good people. A donation can be designated to support The Family Center (which includes overhead and administrative, insurance, etc.) or to fund The Good Samaritan program (which is financial assistance to Maury County residents). Support can be sent to our physical address at 921 S. Beckett St., Columbia, TN 38401 or to P.O. Box 576, Columbia, TN 38402.
Volunteers: We actually have three types of volunteers. We are not able to fund a receptionist; therefore, our volunteers answer phones and direct walk-ins. We ask that the volunteer commit to half a day each week. In other words, give us your support from 8:30-12:30 or from 12;30-4:30 one day each week. We encourage our volunteers to remember that in fact they are volunteers and are not tied to the desk. Secondly, we ask for substitute volunteers. Some simply are not able to commit to a half day each week. However, they are willing to pinch-hit for one of the regulars. And thirdly, we often just need help rearranging or restocking the food pantry.
Pantry Drive: The Family Center provides a supplemental food pantry for those on food stamps. There was a country music song entitled, “Too Much Month at the End of the Money.” The same is true with those on food stamps. People on food stamps are not allowed to get food at most food banks; yet often the assistance does not cover basic needs…thus the pantry at The Family Center. We are always searching for non-perishable food items, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, and diapers. See our Wish List section!
Wish List: Please click here to view our wish list of items that we are always in need of.
Prayers: Our God is a provisional God. He has taken care of The Family Center for years. We ask that you pray that we will be able to continue to do His work and that He will bless all who walk through these doors. God is good all the time…all the time, God is good!
